Last Wednesday we held our First Wednesday Evening social and what a night it was! We had record attendance, 3 NEW prospects, of which 2 applied for membership! Thank you to all who came out to support this monthly meeting and a special thank you to Ham Malek for all you did to reach out to the prospects and the club members. Another thanks goes to Diane Donaher and Rocco Damato for supporting this initiative and speaking about Rotary and what it means to each of you. I think the personal touches of why you chose Rotary are what really made the difference and what continues to make our club special.
In case anyone is keeping track, once we have the 2 new applications approved we will have 4 new members so far this year! One of the new applicants was a result of Ham just talking about Rotary.
This week one of our newest members, Sherman Myers of Stephen’s Place, will be giving his classification talk. We will also have a presentation on Salute to the Troops.
Past District Governor (2021-2022) Bob Hobaugh also asked me to share a service project benefiting The Potato Project on September 29, 2024 from 1pm-5pm at the Pennsylvania German Cultural Heritage Center located at 22 Luckenbill Road, Kutztown, PA. This service project provides potatoes for the food insecure in a multi-county area. Hot dogs, French fries and a beverage. Bob also requested that you bring gloves. If you are interested, please RSVP directly to Bob at rotarianbob@hometownu.biz
So let’s keep the momentum up, keep thinking about your “why” and the amazing things that we do as Rotarians.
