This past week we had District Governor Katie Farrell in attendance at our meeting. She talked about The Magic of Rotary and how all of the amazing projects Rotarians do really create that magic. She also spoke about the challenges of membership - attracting new members and retaining old. Our club has some exciting new things in the works for membership and service so please stay tuned for that.

We will also be bringing back the Zoom option for all of our meetings, with the exception of the First Wednesday evening meeting. The link is below, as well as on our website.

I am also thrilled to welcome 2 new members - Dylan and Sherman. Please be sure to say hello, introduce yourself and get to know them both.

Finally, we are handing out the backpacks this Friday at 3pm at the Greenway on Webster St. The best GPS address is 362 Taylor St., Bethlehem for those who don't know where to go. We will be on the Greenway, which runs along 3rd St. There are metered parking spots along the street adjacent to the Greenway.

From Al Philpotts:  Friends – an update for you and a request:

Deb Geiger and her husband Jim, both past active members of our club, moved to the west coast some time ago.  Late last summer Deb began experiencing vision issues that led to more serious symptoms and a diagnosis of glioblastoma, a dangerous brain cancer for which remission is extremely rare.  With strong faith and positive spirit, Deb has endured surgeries, Gamma Knife treatments, radiation and chemotherapy.  Her current treatment hopes to reduce the tumor’s blood supply.  Her guiding light is her husband Jim, and this prayer:” Feed your faith and your fears will starve to death.”   Please keep her in prayer.

Deb was active in the community as a past leader of the Center for Humanistic Change, and she was active in our Rotary club in a variety of roles.  If you know Deb as a Rotarian, as a friend, as an influencer, as someone who made a difference in your life or the lives of others, please contribute your thoughts in an email to me. (aphilpotts@gmail.com) I and a former work colleague of hers are helping to assemble a life book for her.  Your support will be deeply appreciated.
