I am happy to announce that the District has approved our grant for the pollinator garden at Centennial Park and is now being submitted to Rotary International! Thank you to our club members who have worked hard on this project.
Our annual Musikfest luncheon is coming up soon on Wednesday August 6 at the ArtsQuest Center - SteelStacks Building. We will NOT have a First Wednesday Rotary Mixer in August due to this luncheon. Please be on the lookout for a sign-up email and please invite your friends!
There is a service opportunity for Das Awkscht Fescht: PDG Bob Hobaugh from the Kutztown Club reached out to me looking for volunteers to help with this year's Das Awkscht Fescht at Macungie Memorial Park on Aug. 1, 2 and 3. Service includes free parking, admission, breakfast and lunch on your volunteer day. There are service opportunities starting on July 21. On August 14th Bethlehem Morning Star will be hosting the recipients of our shared youth programming including STEM YEA, Camp Neidig and Youth Exchange. As we strengthen our programs for youth, I would like to extend an invitation to our club so everyone may have the opportunity to meet the students who benefit from these programs. This year we will be sponsoring the Backpack Program for the kids at Donegan Elementary School in partnership with the CADB. Listed are requested supplies that you can donate to help us fill the backpacks. The event is August 22 from 4-6 at Donegan Elementary School and we will accept donations weekly at our meetings.
