Monday June 17, 2024:

Hello fellow Rotarians.  Our esteemed president is overloaded with board meetings and events, so I'm filling in on this week's bulletin.

Thanks to Sara Satullo who spoke at last week's meeting on the challenging topic of housing.  Like buildings themselves the topic demonstrates that there isn't one size that fits all.  She did a good job on a tough subject.

Jill Long shared her thanks for those who are willing to provide transport when needed.  She also thanked us for thinking of them for dinners but due to Gerry’s health issues his diet is very limited.  One thing she would love to have is lunch dates with one or more fellow Rotarians - a chance to get out of the house and share some social dining time.  We can do that, can't we?  Please feel free to contact her directly to arrange this - she will be thrilled.

We need volunteers to attend the Iron Pigs game with the Boys & Girls Club kids on August 8. Cost will be $39 per person. This includes food and non-alcoholic beverages. AND - we need a Rotarian willing to be the RSVP contact for this event - to collect the list of YES replies.  This event is one that Jerry Long loved dearly and promoted vigorously in our club.  It's one that's a lot of fun and easy to support.

We don't have a speaker for Wednesday's meeting - at least that I know of - so perhaps this would be a great time to share a Father's Day story or two.  What made the day special for you?  What dad joke makes your kids' eyes roll every time you tell it?  What you most proud of as a parent?  What challenged you most as a parent?  What worries you as you think about your own kids as parents?

See you Wednesday.

Yours in Rotary service,

Al Philpotts (Club Webmaster) for President Lori Knerr
